BASIC RESEARCH:
Medicinal Chemistry
The Department of Medicinal Chemistry at PERD centre is actively pursuing research embracing diversified areas of medicinal chemistry involved in designing as well as synthesizing new chemical entities.
Different industrial and government sponsored projects are regularly undertaken by the department. We also have international collaboration with different foreign universities, like Louisiana State University, USA and Institut für Pharmakologie und Toxikologie, Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg, Germany.
Various consultancies deal for biological testing, development of chemical compounds etc also run by our department. More than 2000 new molecules have been designed, synthesized and screened for their different pharmacological activities.
